This ebook discusses the findings from the JobLab research on the experience of teaching, which was completed during June and July 2005. A mixed methodology was used, including 38 in-depth interviews, 57 observations, 71 experience-sampling diary entries, and a major survey completed by more than 1,000 teachers and 300 comparative careers. The teachers involved in the qualitative case study were of varying degrees of experience, from 1 to 40 years of teaching.
